PolyWords
Link letters. Find words.
PolyWords is a cozy, low-poly word-linking game for iOS. Players drag a continuous path across adjacent letter tiles to form words. Campaign mode winds through 100 levels across five pastel worlds, the Daily Challenge offers a fresh shared board every day, Endless mode lets you play at your own pace, and an unlockable Slang mode brings curated slang into the mix. With procedurally generated audio, haptic feedback, Game Center leaderboards, achievements, cosmetics, and full VoiceOver support, PolyWords is built to be calming, accessible, and endlessly replayable.

What PolyWords does
A cozy, low-poly word-linking game built for iOS.
Link letters
Drag a continuous path through adjacent tiles to spell words. Forward movement, retraction, and per-mode reuse rules keep every turn tactical.
iOS native
Built for iPhone and iPad with SwiftUI, SpriteKit, and Swift 5. A pastel, low-poly interface designed for thumb-friendly play.
100-level campaign
Travel through five worlds — Meadow, Forest, Orchard, Highlands, and Crystal Grove — with shaped boards and a smooth difficulty ramp.
Daily Challenge
A fixed shared board every day with its own Game Center leaderboard. Everyone sees the same letters, so the leaderboard is a fair fight.
Endless & Slang
Play untimed boards at your own pace, or unlock Slang mode with coins for a dictionary of YEET, RIZZ, VIBE, and more.
Three difficulty modes
Casual, Reader, and Wordsmith change minimum word length and whether tiles can be reused. Pick the mode that matches your mood.
Powerups
Spend coins on Word Hint, Time Freeze, and Double Score to nudge a tough board without ever buying progress or achievements.
Earn or buy coins
Coins come from stars, perfect clears, daily challenges, login streaks, and optional coin packs. Cosmetics and powerups only.
Themes & cosmetics
Unlock tile skins, board skins, path trails, and celebrations. Premium Spooky themes transform the whole app with custom chip silhouettes.
Achievements & leaderboards
34 Game Center achievements and six leaderboards reward vocabulary, speed, consistency, and exploration — not purchases.
Procedural audio
Every sound and music loop is synthesized at runtime, with per-mode and per-premium-theme tracks that crossfade as you move around the app.
Accessible by design
VoiceOver labels every tile and control, colorblind palettes override themes, and reduced motion suppresses particles without removing feedback.
One more word. One more board. One more run.
PolyWords is designed for quick sessions that keep opening into something deeper.
A board you can read
Every generated round is checked for valid solutions before play begins. The challenge is finding the words — never wondering whether the board works.
Progress without pressure
Campaign stars, discovered words, daily rewards, and personal bests create momentum without energy timers, forced sessions, or pay-to-win shortcuts.
A fair daily competition
Everyone receives the same Daily Challenge board. Scores are comparable, rewards are earned through play, and purchases never buy leaderboard position.
Made to feel good
Responsive paths, synthesized audio, precise haptics, calm low-poly worlds, and playful celebrations make finding even a short word satisfying.
Four ways to play
Follow the 100-level Campaign, compete in the Daily Challenge, slow down in Endless, or test a very different vocabulary in unlockable Slang mode.
Difficulty with a purpose
Casual welcomes quick three-letter finds, Reader asks for longer vocabulary, and Wordsmith removes tile reuse for the sharpest route planning.
Personal, not invasive
No PolyWords account is required. Core progress stays on the device; Game Center and purchases use Apple's platform services when you choose them.
Playable by more people
VoiceOver tile-by-tile play, reduced motion, colorblind-friendly palettes, and separate audio and haptic controls are part of the game — not afterthoughts.

First premium collection: Spooky Season
PolyWords will launch its first premium theme collection just in time for spooky season. The Spooky collection restyles the whole app — menus, boards, chips, music, and accents — around four custom chip silhouettes and minor-key tracks.

Built with the same care Pulsar brings to client work.
Word-linking gameplay
Start on any tile and drag a continuous path through horizontally, vertically, or diagonally adjacent letters. Releasing submits the word. Valid new words score points and fill the progress bar; invalid or repeated words are rejected with clear feedback.
Campaign mode
One hundred levels across five pastel worlds. Each level fixes the board shape, difficulty mode, hidden-word count, and timer, but the letters are generated fresh on every play — so memorizing a board is never a shortcut.
Daily Challenge
A single shared board each day, chosen from a 50-board rotation without repeats. Participation, completion, and perfect-clear coin rewards give everyone a reason to come back, and the dedicated leaderboard makes every score comparable.
Endless & Slang
Endless mode drops the timer and lets you hunt every solution word at your own pace. Slang mode is an unlockable, coins-gated dictionary of curated slang words — cheeky, but filtered for offensive terms.
Shaped boards
Eleven classic shapes — diamond, circle, hourglass, cross, spiral, branch, honeycomb, and more — plus a computed opening ramp that introduces new players to the full grid before shrinking to the diamond and rotating through shapes.
Difficulty modes
Casual accepts 3–7 letter words with tile reuse allowed. Reader raises the minimum to five. Wordsmith forbids reuse entirely. The same board generator proves solvability under the chosen rules before the round starts.
Scoring & combos
Longer words are worth more, and finding valid words within a 5-second window builds a combo multiplier. Star thresholds are set per board from the available solution score, so every level is balanced against itself.
Powerups
Word Hint highlights one undiscovered short solution word, Time Freeze stops the clock for 15 seconds, and Double Score doubles the next valid word. They cost coins and never affect leaderboards or achievements directly.
Economy & cosmetics
Coins are earned from stars, perfect clears, streaks, and dailies. They buy powerups, standard and premium themes, tile and board skins, path trails, and celebrations. Purchased coins are spendable but never counted toward lifetime achievement progress.
Audio, haptics & accessibility
Procedurally synthesized sound effects, haptic feedback for connect/retract/word/star events, and per-context music loops. VoiceOver makes every tile reachable and playable by tap, and colorblind accents are applied on top of any equipped theme.
Achievements & leaderboards
Thirty-four achievements across first steps, vocabulary, mastery, consistency, and exploration. Six Game Center leaderboards cover campaign total, daily, endless, slang, stars collected, and words discovered.
